A little Saudi girl used a visit by a royal member to her school to cry before him and plead for the freedom of her jailed father, prompting the prince to order the instant release of the man, a newspaper reported on Sunday.
Ruwan, aged below 10 years, met Prince Fahd bin Sultan of the northern province of Tabuk and tearfully told him about her suffering away from her father, who had landed in prison in a debt case involving around SR250,000 ($70,000), Sharq Arabic language daily said.
“The Prince quickly hugged Ruwan and announced that he would pay her father’s debt,” the paper said.
“He then ordered the immediate release of her father before the end of the school day so Ruwan can go home and see him there.”
